Updating a day early, but honestly after nine/ten months of working on this thing the satisfaction of uploading the last page (or rather two pages joined together!) was too great. I'd invite everyone to skip back to the beginning and have a read through the comic as I intended, without week long breaks between pages!

Thank you to everyone who has read the comic, and special thanks to those who have supported me with their comments, reblogs, reviews, critiques and fanart. Keep it up and don't become a stranger - I've got plans for more stories in the future involving monsters, mythology and people being people.

You can keep in touch by...

Take your pick :D and THANKS ONCE AGAIN!

This was so fab TTwTT'

Aww, an little Human!Hui making sculptures is so sweet...

I also wondered for a moment before, if she'd be a cat XD
16th Aug 2015, 8:52 PM
She would have made a great cat, to be fair. Aloof, slightly grumpy, likes hunting down small and weak creatures and then toying with them...;D

The Doodler
Good luck, Hui!

Being a human being is hard work, i think she'll need it!

Thanks for all your comments, by the way.

The Doodler
It sure is.
Thank you for the comic!

There is no crime in being born. You will be only judged by your actions much, much later.
Hopefully better ones this time around!

Even though I started late, this was a really well done comic that shows how the simple idea of helping someone can get so twisted once you stop taking the side you are helping into account.

Good luck with your other projects. Art related or not :D

That's true. In a lot of the folk stories that inspired this story people are turned into horrible man-eating creatures for their crimes, but I always felt that was a little unfair - surely the best way to handle someone whose actions are inhuman is to make them human, with all the capacity for great evil and great good that brings.

(Thank you for all your comments by the way!)

awwe ; w ; that was so good congratulations!! I really like the ying yang as a panel too.

Thank you! And yay, I'm pleased it was obvious that's what it was.
17th Aug 2015, 2:16 AM
Man, it's been ten months?!

On another note, feel free to push your next project via PM. I am most interested.
17th Aug 2015, 2:42 AM
It has! From my point of view anyway, I posted the first pages up at the end of January, but I was working on them and the script for a few months before that.

I'll let you know when I've got something else going on. I think it might be a few months yet, but I do have plans (and that goes for anyone else reading this, if you'd like a poke when I've got another comic on the go, let me know!)

This was a really beautiful story to read! Congratulations on completing it. :)

Human! I have to smile now. Or cry? A really cool and beautiful conclusion :D

And, I so want to read a 'Art of Monsters II' now .. But yes, I see the point with having an open end.

Looking forward to your next comics, Monsters, mythology and people - sounds very good.

This has been a great ride. I only have ONE complaint: it ended! :( I wanted more.
27th Sep 2015, 7:32 AM
Thank you! I'm not totally discounting doing something about the adventures of Hui as a human one day... but only if I get a really good idea for it.

I loved this story. It reminded me of the old fairy tales and the moral behind it. And I adored Hui. You really got into how lonely she was.
